Linux MT1200P telnet power off command

Last Updated: Dec 01, 2017 04:13PM PST
Problem:  Want to remote poweroff terminals without using SNMP

Solution: Use telnet to remote connect and poweroff.

-use hyperterm or another telnet connection to connect to the terminal
- type the command:  echo "poweroff" > /proc/gx2

This command will power off the terminal.

This can be used with batched telnet login and command products to avoid having to keep SNMP signed on.

The Schedule feature of our SNMP product will accomplish the same thing
