How to set Termpro to delay starting

Last Updated: Oct 26, 2018 11:53AM PDT
Problem: There is a need to delay the start of Termpro because it launches too fast when the CLI LX3 client is powered on.

Discussion: When WIFI connection, or even the LAN connection is slow to get its IP address from the host, and Termpro is set to auto-launch, Termpro will launch before the device has a network connection.  You either set Termpro to auto-reconnect, or delay the launch of Termpro, whatever you want to do. NOTE: you can use one or both of the below solutions.

Solution 1: Set Termpro to auto-reconnect. SETTING/CONNECTION/CONNECT RETRY set it to immediate, or 1 minute.

Solution 2: Set the command to delay the start of Termpro for the User desktop. Login as root/Start/All/Management/Auto functions/username/user.  Auto Run Preference input the below command for 15 second delay to start the example AS400 configured host session.

sh -c "sleep 15; as400.xfg"

Where (as400.xfg) is the name of the configured host session, and sleep 15 refers to delay of 15 seconds before Termpro will launch. You can set it to any number of seconds you want.
